New Tribunal Rules

From 1 October 2004, new rules apply to the way Employment Tribunals deal with claims put before them;-

• the role of ACAS in facilitating settlements is strengthened by the introduction of a compulsory conciliation period of 7 to 13 weeks, during which no tribunal hearing will take place, except in discrimination, whistleblowing and certain other cases

• new forms will be used (from April 2005) requiring, amongst other things, that Applicants provide better information about financial loss
